The Minnesota National Guard hosted Joint Task Force-Republican National Convention, a task force of all five branches of the armed services created to support civil authorities during the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn. The convention ran from Sept. 1 to Sept. 4. About 1,200 Soldiers and Airmen from Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota and Alaska helped in the effort.
