Nash and other senior leaders of the Army National Guard's division headquarters came to New York City June 4-5 to discuss the future roles and missions of the Army National Guard combat divisions for homeland security and overseas contingency operations. The maritime security assessment provided the Army Guard leaders with an overview of the complex terrain for homeland security missions in and around Manhattan since September 11, 2001.
