Mahébourg is a small town on the southeastern coast of the island of Mauritius. The well-planned wide streets in the old section of Mahébourg still bear testimony to this Dutch and French colonial past. After the French chose Port Louis as the main port Mahébourg declined into a sleepy coastal city. Nowadays, Mahébourg is a bustling centre of local trade. The new waterfront complex promises some memorable walks along the sea-side.

Hares : Bertrand & Dodocop \\_// Cook : Primerose, Sylvie, Patty \\_// Pictures by Jackie \\_// I think we all agree that today's hash was just idyllic ~ a true feast for the eyes...including a bit of everything that helped make the trail picture perfect...from the beautiful seashore to small rivulets, walks through evergreen woods and even rural tomato plantations ~ surely something to write home about!

Hares : Claude and David H. _/_/_/ Cook : Marie Claude _/_/_/ Today’s trail was quite flat and dry ~ with great panoramic views of the surrounding mountains from different angles and the Indian Ocean beckoning in the far background. We were blessed with friendly pre-summer sunshine and a crowd full of smiles!
