The scene from the Keyston Ferry in the waters outside Port Townsend as we came in.
The red sails against the blue water...AWESOME!
The penninsual in the distance is Ft. Worden State Park
The harbor jam-packed with wooden boats.
Wooden boats of every shape, size, era and type were on display.
The weather and the day could not have been more perfect.
Such a simple hand-built boat....but something about its easy elegance, full of gear, ready for adventure, made for one of my favorite photos of the day.
It is really hard to give the full effect in photos of the colors and life in the harbor.
There is ALWAYS art...GREAT ART!
The caned back seats with leather straps...PERFECT joinery, impeccable finish work...I just can't imagine putting this beauty in the water.
This photo reveals the excitement at the harbor. Look at all of those masts!!
Pygmy Boat Works wooden kayaks made from kits. Think I will build one.
Finished the weekend having fun with rocks on the beach at Ft. Ebey.
