Hartford Cares

Hartford Cares Vigil - Photos courtesy of John Davis, Ira Yellen, Carlos Hernandez Chavez and Barbara Glassman Dell --- Citizens from throughout Greater Hartford gathered at Bushnell Park in Hartford for a candlelight vigil to foster healing and hope in Hartford. "Hartford Cares: Conversations, Connections and Commitments to Build a Greater Hartford," was organized in response to the senseless acts of violence that have affected the lives of Hartford residents and bruised the reputation of Connecticut’s capital city. The vigil included performances by the Hartford Symphony, local dancers, musicians and poets. An exhibition area allowed a number of non-profit organizations to promote opportunities for community involvement. “Hartford Cares,” is the first in a series of events to be organized by Leadership Greater Hartford in cooperation with Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez and the Court of Common Council.
