The next morning, Kit continued her search. This time she searched the rest of the house, beginning with the Air Hockey table.
Next she looked amongst the piles of books...
And when she realised that she would find nothing, she headed downstairs to ask for her sister's help. Kit has rather strange ways of transportation...
Kit knows that it's easier to search when you have a friend to support you!
Kit and Stacey looked everywhere they could think of, even in the printer!
As Kit descended downstairs once more, she called out to her sister: "We still haven't checked in Mum's room!"
"Let's check in her drawers, where she keeps her clothes!" Kit cried out.
So Kit plunged headfirst into the drawer and began to search...
And popped up holding a stack of valentines!
"Stacey, Mum stole the Valentines!" Kit said as she hopped to the floor, "Call the police! Call the FBI! Something has to be-"
Just then, Kit realised that her friend Jessica had entered the room. "Oh, Jess! It's awful! Mum stole the valentines that everyone made for the party next week!"
"WHAT?" squeaked Jessica, very surprised at this revelation.
"It's true," Stacey added, "Kit found them in her dresser drawer!"
Jessica started to giggle. "No, no! You've got it all wrong!" she laughed, "Mum hid the valentines because she knows how curious you are, Kit, and she didn't want you to find them before the party!"
Kit looked down at the floor, ashamed about what she had said.
"Don't worry too much, Kit," Jessica said gently, "I'm sure Mum will forgive you. After all, it was an honest mistake."
"That's true..." Kit mumbled, and smiled a little. She was so excited for the party.
So Kit put one arm around each of her friends, and they all yelled, "Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!".
