KNC-Plus3s Xmas Party 2008
On December 7th. 2008 the Kelowna Newcomers'celebrated 40 years of friendship and camaraderie with a Dinner & Dance in the main ballroom of the Coast Capri Hotel. This was a historic evening as 40 years ago in December 1968 the fledgling Newcomers' Club held their first dinner and dance at the same venue. This years event was jointly sponsored with the Newcomers' alumini, the Kelowna Plus 3's Friendship Club. A total of 197 people were in attendance including members both past and present as well as the Guest of Honour Mayor Sharon Shepherd and her husband Dr. Michael Shepherd.
At 6.00 pm. after a brief welcome by Gary Williamson a festive dinner was served . At around 7.15pm, Gary gave a broader welcome and introduced the evenings Master of Ceremonies Reg Forrest . Reg introduced the Newcomers' President Paul Bethel and Frank Renshaw President of the Plu 3's, while the Mayor was introduced by Paul and the each said a few words.
