This is what I do when I can't get to sleep two nights before heading to Austin :)
Thanks to Natalie for sharing her subversive cross stitch book.
Day 1! Tiffany, Natalie, me & Brooke
The creepy tree next to the creepy house...
P. Terry's (& Tiffany)
The pedestrian entrance...not as pretty as the other one, but fun all the same.
Natalie...we'd just gotten into the park and plopped down next to Sara Watkins' stage. I just remember her (S.W.) saying "And here's my producer, John Paul Jones..." and we wondered "THAT John Paul Jones? Or another one?" It turns out, it was THAT one.
Tiffany
Brooke
First full set: Avett Brothers; I'd definitely pay to see them again. They were shockingly rockin'!
Avett Brothers
What comes before Hot B? (Hot-AAAAAAYYYYY!) ;) I liked this Avett.
Just in case we didn't remember we were in Texas. Natalie pointed this out, saying "The difference between if this was in Nashville or here in Texas? ::Pointed up:: The flags."
Phoenix
Phoenix. This is Chet, so nicknamed because he looked like they'd pulled him off some frat house floor after a night of hard partying.
Phoenix. This is Miami Vice, so nicknamed because of the sweet 'stache and Members Only jacket. It looks like he has sparkles behind him, but it's just tree leaves through the black scrim.
Phoenix. This is Ooh la la, so nicknamed because they're French, and he's gorgeous. Plus, the scarf. THE SCARF!
Phoenix. This is Jordan Hester, so nicknamed because he looks just like Jordan Hester.
Phoenix. That guy behind Jordan Hester is Jermaine, so nicknamed because he looks like he could be on Flight of the Conchords.
Phoenix special guest: Dave Grohl; he played their entire set with them.
Phoenix. In this picture, Dave Grohl seems to be channeling the just-in-case-you-forgot-I-was-in-Nirvana emotion.
Phoenix. This guy was precious. He was loving the size of the crowd. About two seconds later he came out into the crowd. Two seconds after that he realized that it was a huge, huge mistake.
Natalie waiting to hear John Legend. I'm posting this one because of the funny grid on her face. I think it's a print of the dress I was wearing on the glass of my camera.
John Legend. The funny thing is, the Phoenix guys were pretty adorable (I mean, Ooh la la and that SCARF!) but the crowd was decidedly giggly-er the SECOND John Legend took the stage. It was awesome.
John Legend and his awesome backup singers.
John Legend
John Legend. This is the view I had while he was at the piano, which is pretty funny...
John Legend. My fave shot of the weekend. No touch-ups...high five!
John Legend. My second fave shot of the weekend. Again, no touch-ups!
John Legend. It got REALLY giggly when the button-down shirt came off!
Outside the Beatles Rock Band tent. It looks like Brooke (taking the picture on the left) is chasing down Peter Pan's shadow. (Anyone; anyone?)
Peter Pan's shadow
If I had any experience playing Rock Band or Guitar Hero before the weekend, this might have been fun. As it was, I was at a music festival and intimidated.
Austin at night. The floaty globe-y thing is a light...you can see the moon as the little globe-y thing above that.
The Livestrong stage at night. I guess Kings of Leon was about to go on?
Natalie and Brooke; listening to Andrew Bird from afar.
Our view for Kings of Leon.
Day 2: I took this picture when we stopped walking for Mute Math, the first band we saw that day. I thought my feet were so gross because they were wet and covered in grass. If I'd only known...
Mute Math. This is about as close as I got to the Livestrong stage all weekend, which is funny because I was right up front for Gogol Bordello and Beck last year.
Natalie...probably singing along to Noticed, because it's the most sing-along-able.
Tiffany...It stopped raining!
Nate!
Mute Math
Tiffany and Natalie listening to Grizzly Bear. This is about the time it wasn't worth it to pull out the camera any more, so the day 2 pictures are limited.

Me...lookin' rough.
Day 3! Tiffany, Brooke, me & Natalie. Thanks, Tiffy, for the fun braids!
Pedi-cabs to get us to the B-52s on time! Thanks again Tiffy! Brooke and I were about to make a break for it and pass Tiff and Natalie. Our guy said he'd driven about 125 miles that weekend by that point...
Ugh. This is what we came into the park to on the last day. By the end of the day, you couldn't see any grass AT ALL.
B-52s. If I had to describe them in one word, it would be FABULOUS.
B-52s
B-52s. It made me sad when they zoomed in on the screen, because then you could see how old they were.
B-52s. The backdrop made it pretty hard to get a clear picture.
Natalie and Brooke...walking to the Rock Band tent before...someone?
Yeesh.
As far as the eye could see...
Ben Sollee. We listened to an abbreviated set on the kiddie stage so that we wouldn't have to trek across the mud to the other stage for his full set. Hey...you do what you have to do.
Ben Sollee. Go Lafayette!
I know it's creepy to take pictures of other people's kids, but this kid owned me. It was the sucker...
Paul Green's School of Rock All-Stars. Jury's still out on if the lead singer was a guy or girl.
Alex's Lemonade Stand. As in Alex Scott and Afleet Alex.
Crowd gathering for Passion Pit. "Zilker Beach" was the only mud-free place in the whole park.
My Wal-Mart shoes...and Brooke's sandals...waiting for Passion Pit.
Our view for Passion Pit.

Rebirth Brass Band...very, very fun!

Creepy stalker photo of Natalie taking Neon photos. The Neon gave this one a weird glow...
To Guero's parking!

Heading to drop Brooke off before heading back home! Brooke, Tiffany, Natalie & me
Natalie..."White ghost horses?! GHOST horses?!"
The newest addition to my cool old camera collection, courtesy of Uncommon Objects and Natalie Stone.
The inside of the box...
The camera...a Polaroid with a detachable flash AND a flash "bouncer" screen.
