Lights from the carnival...
Another picture of sitting and people watching at the carnival. My camera and darkness do not work well.
View from the terrace of my hostel. This is looking across at a restaurant.
One of the gates leading into the Medina.
Part of the square where the carnival was being held the night before and different entrance into the Medina.
I took a walk the next morning to a nearby hill outside the Medina. This is a view of a nearby cemetary.
Group of kids playing soccer with the city in the background
View as I hiked up the hilltop. You can see the wall of the Medina to the bottom right.
Some kind of ruin at the top of the hill.
A zoomed shot looking down into the cemetary as a man leads his donkey through a path.
Sheep with their guard dog
A minaret which is part of a Mosque and Madrasah within the Medina of Fes.
A look down one of the streets in the Medina at a donkey in the shadows and cats going through some garbage
Some stalls in the Medina at a more open area. Ones in this area are selling chickens although the stall right next to the final chicken shop is a barber.
Dried fruits in the medina
Another mosque or madrasah within the medina
Water spout within the medina. People generally don't have water in their house so they get it from these with their beautiful designs.
Some kind of dessert that has turned into some kind of beehive...
A common sight in the medina
Lambs feet and the usually cat waiting below which seem to be drunk off the smell of the meet.
A bit blurry but I think stomach, feet(?), and lambs head
One of the side streets in the Medina
This is where I was led by some guy that approached me and I agreed for him to show me around a bit as his english was good. He lead me to this amazing house that I definitely would not have been able to find on my own. Apparently it was an old philosopher's.
Some beans and grains for sale in the medina.
I later found out these were supplies for the hammam (bathhouse), but at this point I was wondering what these multi-colored goos were.
A nice tree-lined boulevard in the new city of Fes, outside of the Medina.
A minaret in the new city.
