Jarvis Lions Park Extreme Makeover Project 2008-10
The Jarvis Lions worked diligently this past summer to do a complete makeover of the 26 acre facility that houses two softball diamonds, one small practice diamond. The scope of the work at the ball park consisted of replacing all fencing (foul lines and homerun), infield rebuild on both upper and lower diamonds, spectator seating repair, replacement of back stop on upper diamond, outfield top seeding for both diamonds, inclusion of warning track for both major diamonds, and the replacement of lights on the upper diamond. This Extreme Makeover Project will bring the facility in line with the O.A.S.A guidelines as well as other comparable parks for the calibre of play that the Jarvis Lions Ball Park has been providing over the years.
Thanks to funds from Haldimand County; a Grant from the Trillium Foundation; fundraising by the Jarvis Lions; three major donations, the project is near completion. The entire cost of the project was budgeted at $210,000.
