Xclusive Women's Whistling Show-Chennai-31st August, 08
on 31st August, 08, Indian Whistlers' Association presented an Xclusive Women's Whistling Show with a LIVE orchestra.... with 7 women from Pune, Bangalore and Chennai whistling hindi and tamil songs.
Not only did they whistle, but a few also sang a couple of songs and one S. shweta from Chennai who is not only a whistler and a singer but also a trained classical dancer and performed with full attire..
Thus IWA has broken the taboo of whistling women in India... and the women did it with gr8 pomp and show performing with a LIVE orchestra consisting of tabla, drum machine (octopad), dholak, keyboards, accordian and electric guitar...
the orchestra was headed by one Patrick Rosario- a highly skilled blind accordian and keyboards player.
SINCE our success in entering the LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS with the song "saare jahan se achha", we have adopted it as our IWA anthem and decided that all shows shall end with all whistlers present there whistling it in unison. and thats what
