and we're off, to the top of the "rock" up there
"Greetings and welcome to our trail. Now moooooooove along"
still recovering from yesterday's bike ride, but always smiling when hills are involved
whew, thank goodness there's a restaurant. it had been an entire half-hour since we'd seen one!
taking a break from hiking to serenade the cows since they let us use their trail
Martina helps carry the "heavy" Alphorn
she loves to ski any chance she gets
another break to wake up the people in the valley
we just blend right in don't we
at the top with a celebration song and trying to blow away the clouds while the snow starts falling
Hopp Schwiiz
some spirits in the hut to warm us up from the inside
huts are so "gemutlich" (cozy)... especially with schnapps in your belly!
mmmmm...fried apple rings...it's a good thing apples are good for you...
notice the sign on the door that means "no road bikes or mopeds" (at the top of this steep mountain with no road!)
the steep and slippery descent
every now and then the clouds would lift...
...maybe the Alphorn blew the clouds away
calling Dad on Father's Day to play a little song
at home in the hills
a reeeeeeeally cool echo spot
so you just do it like this, right... Kein Problem!
the benefit of riding the train instead of driving back home
what a great (and tiring!) day!
