Iron and Bronze Block Location: Art Spirit Galley. CDA, Idaho Discription: This experimental piece has since inspired many new creations. It embodies my high reguard for the aged. The steel used for this sculpture was found in a field and more than likely had served its purpose far beyong its intended years. (Try to find that in things made today on our throw away culture.) As in much of my work, I hope to always be creating with the most respect for the materials that I am working with. In this case it is a celebration for pitted and aged steel and the respect that it demands like that of an elder. During the creation of this piece. I had developed a way to weld bronze to steel. (in some circles this is unheard of and thought of as impossible) It has opened many exciting new doors in my work. Bronze, as well as steel carries with it a blend of crude and ingineouse historic elegence. Artist: Hazen Audel
OK I admit. God Made this... Or mother Nature. Or merely natural selection.
