Snakes alive!
Supercharged 5.4 liter, 4 valve, V8--500 horsepower, 480 ft/lbs torque, the most powerful Mustang ever built. No-nonsense strut brace is not as nearly as flashy as the Shelby GT's, but the no-nonsense of the suprecharger makes up for it!
The engine is hand assembled by the Ford Special Vehicles Team (SVT) and the engine builders sign this plaque as an indication of the pride and special care that goes into SVT products.
Rear quarter--this pre-production model includes side scoops, the later production do not have these installed at the factory.
What the competition sees!
Premier leather trim, unique steering wheel and more snakes!
Gauges are multi-color adjustable and include an "economy shift point" light (like you're really going to drive this car for "economy") and a user adjustable SVT shift light.
No longer a gas filler, Ford used this to trim out the trunk lock.
Cozy space, and very comfortable too.
More snakes in the upholstery.
Window sticker from Ford. It hit the dealer showroom with a $62,000 price tag including the famous "limited availability" mark up.
Certified as a "pre-production" unit. It was given to the dealer as a promo model before the production cars actually hit the showrooms.
At home, happy & freshly washed.
Kills bugs fast!
I love the long, low, lean look of this body-style's convertible.
I've had this tag for almost 15 years: first on a '92 Mustang LX 5.0, 5 speed, then on a Chrysler Sebring convertible JXi, a Ranger XLT step-side, a PT Cruiser, Dream Cruiser 1, and finally back on a car worthy of the tag!
My other gray baby in the background.
The bugs are hard enough to clean off, not to mention those pesky Hondas and Toyotas that get sucked into the grill!
