Controlled forest burning just short of the Canyon and just before my bike fell apart

Sunrise over The Canyon. I think I'll let the pictures do the talking for the next twenty-or-so snaps...
Don't look down
On the road down to Flagstaff
Wupatki National Monument
Looking out to the Painted Desert
Still barren landscape after the eruption of the Sunset Crater cinder cone...about 950 years ago!
Life in the ashes
Death in the ashes
Walnut Canyon - its perfectly safe, honest
Walnut Canyon - luxury waterfront apartments now available
Hitting the roof - in the ruins at Walnut Canyon
My Mother at Walnut Canyon
Heading into a storm in the desolate Eastern Arizona on day 47 and I hit my low point for the trip...
