Verona Dyestuffs Division of Mobay Chemical Corporation, Bayonne Plants Photos 1970-1984
In the early 1970s the Verona Dyestuff Division of Baychem Corporation (Bayer US subsidiary) succeeded the Verona-Pharma Chemical Corporaiton which had represented the merger of Pharma Chemical Corporation and the Verona Chemical Company since 1957. By the mid 1970s the company became known as the Verona Dyestuff Division of Mobay Chemical Corporation (Bayer US subsidiary). Bayonne Plant 1, dating to WW I, closed in 1981 and Plant 2, dating to 1950, closed in 1984, with dye production transferred to the newer Verona plant in Bushy Park, SC.
