The seats in the Business Elite section are rather nice.
Mountains and Sunrise over Spain
Patchwork Spain
Sunrise over Spain -- don't tell me I can't get a good shot from an airplane window.
In case the picture is too small, there's a valley filled with fog starting right where the smoke from the factory is being put out.
The same valley as the last shot -- looks more like a river than fog as it gets farther away.
Cliffs along a Spanish road at sunrise.
Not sure what these are, they're at the center of this olive farm, though.
I could have cropped this down, but I liked the bit of light captured by the rising sun on the engine. The dotted vegetations on the ground are olive trees.
It's a shame the picture couldn't be higher quality from a bumpy airplane, through two sheets of thick plastic, and with limited light from sunrise... because I like the simplicity of this one.
Madrid at sunrise.
Madrid in aged sepia
I'm not entirely sure what the purpose of this is with no real intersection or road to change to. Can anyone help me out? Just for turning around?
We took a nap as soon as we got in at the hotel.
Building visible from our window in the hotel
Different angle of the building visible from our hotel window
The pool... which looked great, but wasn't tempting enough for weather in the fifties.
The pool really did look nice.
This guy was swinging his (I'm assuming) daughter around and playing with her.
That's me... in the Museo de Jamon. Dad just bought a sandwich and we left.
I already felt like I was in Disneyland walking around the streets -- this topped it off.
Plaza Mayor
Road leading away from the Plaza Mayor
Coke products were all over the place -- not very many Pepsi Co items, though.
Dad's by the pedestrian walk light to the right. He's facing a small place on the corner there where I had my first beer.
My first beer.
Devirginizing my taste buds.
View outside from our table
The table where I had my first beer with my father.
Cathedral near the Plaza Mayor
I believe this is the street the Mushroom Bar is on... up a little ways and to the right. I'm not sure, though.
The street musicians/performers did all sorts of crazy things downtown.
Musicians -- the woman in the trumpet has some intrument which looks like a mixture between a violin and a trumpet -- although clearly a string instrument.
Fountain at night -- you're welcome for the caption.

Dad's face -- which reflected really interestingly in the beer.

Getting Metro tickets
That guy looks like he was feeling on top of the world.
Fortunately, our metro leading away from the Plaza Mayor wasn't this crowded.
Madrid street at sunrise
Walk faster?
Tunnel right outside the train station
Looking for the bus station -- carefully hidden through a garage next to a hotel.
Graffiti -- what a shame.

Where are we headed? The cathedral or the castle?
Aqueduct

Right in the center of the city, a house was completely falling apart.
Construction equipment was all over Spain -- at least the hundred miles or so of it we saw.
Dad
Possibly the police building -- only possibly, though.
I loved the cobblestone roads!
