When we got there, the Mime team was in front of us.
Yes, mimes!
Here we are waiting under the blue canopy to keep the drizzle off for just a tad. Lara, Dan, Kim, Mike and Cheryl.
This guy, one of the co-ordinators, gives us the rules/breakdown.
I did not get his name.
The Cheat kept my club warm.
This is Lara and Paul. They joined us on our team. We were the last team in line, so we go all the late arrivers as you'll see later! I think Paul looks like Benny Hill, but that could be just my perception!
Mike prepares to hit the first ball!
Dan looks threatening with his club, and there's not been a bar stop yet!
I wrote my name on my ball - just in case.
Our team name was "Damn the Mouse" as most of us has either worked for or with Disney at some point. All in good fun as we really do love the mouse!
The first bar, at the end of the first hole was Planet Georgetown.
Inside were the mimes and "Kittens in the River" who were partaking in their 3rd annual Urban Golf tourney.
All of the seats were taken by golfers, big and small.
Damn the mouse, yes, the name was chosen well!
This was an indian that was in the first bar.
Me and Jess pose. We almost got a snap shot with a random guy, but I avoided that with my super senses!
Here's a more casual and prepared shot.
Kim with a baby.
"Cuppy" and Ryan looking absolutely-friggin-adorable! His hat was perfect for our team, but he was with "Kittens in the River".
Kim and the baby.
Cheryl tees off at hole 2.
Bar two was an opportunity to meet more of the other team members. This gentleman's stache was impressive so I required a photo. I think Mike looks amazingly cute in this one as well.
The second bar was Smarty Pants.
The exterior of the second bar.
Almost all places in Seattle have these A frame signs out front. I wonder what the significance is?
Hole 3 was across the street and in a parking lot.
Rainier is a type of beer, and it's all around the Seattle area.
Cool Seattle Airport sign.
Freeway sign
Two of our defunct team members accidentally hit their balls up onto the freeway as they were playing through. They actually got in their car to go fetch them!
Two more members added! Adrien and Vivian (I think/hope). They were really cool and friends of Lara and Paul's!
Our main group hung outside on the porch for the drinking.
Cool conversations and drinking.
Silly poses during conversation.
Previously Amaze Adam who is now Cranky Pants Adam (but not the Cranky Pants Adam that is now the Zipper Adam) brought an old school boom box that he hooked his ipod up to.
I was playing around with my new Gorilla Pod.
Wicked cool sign. I wish I knew how to wood work and paint....
R is for Ryan and Rad.
Cool archway.
Here is our entire group, except me. We were huge!
Dan practices while waiting for the previous team to play through.
Here are the mimes playing the hole.
That was the long shot, then the course curved and went up a ramp. Probably the most difficult hole.
This is the next bar which was 3 doors from the previous bar.
The exterior.
The obligatory sign.
The other side of the sign.
Funny 'cause it's the 9 lb Hammer bar... Got hammered? Drunk = hammered? ha. ha!
Odd statue.
Cheryl playing pinball. Me playing with my gorilla tripod.
Pirates Pinball. Me playing with my gorilla tripod.
Me playing with my gorilla tripod.
Cosy booth.
Shuffle board?
Cool action shot.
Not as cool shot.
Kim looking into the Book room. Curiosity won!
The next bar was not really a bar, but an art gallery.
Cool sign, though.
Ahhh... Victorian...
Can you read what it says?
Yellow things.
A picture of a person taking a picture, and it turned out well!
"Play with the balls!"
A man hole cover. It's art, shaddup.
We were not loading or unloading, but we surely were blocking it!
I tried to get good framing, but it didn't work.
Dan sets up to shoot.
We all stand around and wait.
Jules Maes bar.
Hey, they have food!
A skull.
Another shot of the skull. This was using the gorilla pod. It's meh.
The white board said they had mushroom broccoli cream soup for the day. It was really minestrone, which I can't have. So, I opted for the other soup which was tomato basil. I should have just had her credit my card.
More teeing off!
Kim and Cheryl look soooo cute!
Mike tees off.
Kim places her ball.
Kim tees off. Being the captain, I always shot last so that everyone in the party was in front of me. That way there was no one left behind!
Cool gutter shot.
I shoulda got the gorilla pod out.
Railroad tracks.
This bar was "impromptu" and relied on donations only. Apparently Georgetown only had 8 bars. Then, the cops showed up (open containers = bad!) but they weren't there for anything we thought of. They were there 'cause a previous group was hitting the train with their clubs. Drunk people are silly.
Bad shot, but I was trying.
I tried to get the train in the distance.
Walking to the next hole, and we had to walk along the tracks with a train slowly creeping towards us.
Yes, there was.
You have been warned!
There's the train as it inched towards us.
Finally the train caught up to us, and we moved just in time. We couldn't tee off at this hole, though, 'cause we were being watched by a guy who was on a CB.
Some chose to hit their ball, but I realized Lara wasn't with us. She was still back at the pop-up chatting with the creators. She caught up finally.
We stopped here for respite, but only Dan got a beer. I helped him drink it, but the vibe was definately strained.
This was the corner.
Dan purchacing his beer.
The group chilling.
Cool hippo painting.
Ryan looks tipsy.
Mike keeping warm.
Jess and a friend smile for the camera. I was really just trying to take the next picture, but they got sad when I started aiming the camera too high!
Cool signage!
Ouside looking in.
A green fire hydrant? Aren't they supposed to be yellow?
Kim's awesome legs.
My awesome pants.
A cop, on the tracks, keeping us from being bad.
Cool shot of the tracks and the fence.
We were hitting towards a playground.
Cheryl prepares.
Paul takes beatings from Lara.
Leaves!
Bark!
More Bark!
Working on depth perception and focus. i still don't have it right.
I waited for this shot, and I think it turned out really well.
Kim on the swings.
Playgrounds are fun!
Mike wanted me to be "Playground Warrior!"
The slidey thing was popular.
Who will become the next playground warrior?
Video of Dan using the slidey thing.
Cool graphiti.
Art.
Pretty flowery bush.
I got the bee!
I love sinage.
Yes, yes it was.
Walking to the next bar.
Cool trucks, and you can see the train on the tracks in the distance. We had to wait for the train to move before we could cross.
Close up of a big mac truck.
Sugar!
Walking.
Paint!
Finally! We reached the bar!
Wait, this bar is way too crowded...
Sinage.
Ironically enough, the bike was parked ONTO the pole that the sign was, PLUS there was a car right behind me parked in a marked space. Have I mentioned that I love sinage!?
It was too crowded at the other bar, and some people wanted pizza, so we rounded the corner to here.
The exterior of the joint.
A clown vending machine thing.
Clown head.
Clown face.
More clown face.
Stellar pizza menu.
Mike looking over Ryan's shoulder.
Ryan's shirt.
Ryan's hat.
Cheryl and I went back to the previous bar 'cause they were giving awards.
I think bar shots can be cool. Don't know if this really did what I wanted it to.
Old dusty jukebox.
Jukebox buttons.
Random favorite books shelf.
The girl with the trophys.
Cheryl picks up the Atari game to pass time.
Paul plays an Atari game.
We won a trophy! Such a fitting one as well! Cheryl and I "arrrr"ed the best.
This is our shiney trophy.
Dan showing people pics of his brother Brian. He was with us in spirit.
Kittens in the River won a trophy for most obnoxious for Cranky Pants Adam's boom box!
Mmmm... sucker.
