Mystery Bird - Now Solved
I saw this bird in my backyard in Castro Valley CA on 9-Apr-07. It mostly just sat on the fence in the sun and went to have a drink in my waterfall. There was another one that flew in and just stayed for a short time. This bird stayed there for at least 15 minutes.
I sent an inquiry to the SF Audubon Society and they informed me that this is a European Starling in mating plumage.
