Mike Alstott Family Foundation Sports Buddies Day
More than 200 Bigs, Littles and BBBS staff from across Tampa Bay came out for this event. Upon arrival, matches were greeted by HSN volunteers, who came together (80 of them!) to volunteer at this event as part of Service Nation's Day of Action. Everyone received offical event t-shirts and participated in a variety of activities arranged for the day.
After everyone enjoyed a ball-park style lunch, former Buccaneer Mike Alstott joined the group, signing t-shirts and doing a football toss with the Bigs and Littles. He then mingled with matches at their various play stations on the field. Lawrence Samuels of the Tampa Bay Storm and fellow BBBS spokesperson, joined the event too with his family and his new Little Brother. He joined in the friendly game of touch football that eventually started up.
At the close of the event, Mike honored the teams who rasied the most money during the 2008 Bowl for Kids' Sake campaign by posing for group photos and signing autographs.
