My fellow Thomson Safari-ers, Michael, Katie and bf Anthony, hiked with me on the Blue Trail (it's not always a loop) at the Blue Hills. That's the Boston skyline over my left shoulder.
Beth Ann, Mom, Aunt Roe, Brit and I went to Central Park for a day of working out - an event held by Self Magazine.
We had an awesome time! We took classes like sexy stretch (and giggled through the whole thing), Bollywood, kickboxing and yoga. Such a fun family day for the girls!
My loyal hiking companion, Miles - he's part Golden Retriever and part Hippopotamus. Wallowing in the mud is his MO on pretty much every hike we go on. Finding a lake to rinse him off in has become a mandatory post-hike activity for me.
The steps at T stop at Porter Square. I spent Monday mornings here walking and sprinting these stairs, which seem to descend down to middle earth...why they built this subway station so far underground, I don't know - but what a freaking good workout! I do have to say, the morning commuters were awesomely supportive (and thought I was totally insane). Photo credit: http://www.flickr.com/photos/teleobjectif/395045469/
I signed up with a company called Fit For Trips (a TS partner) who created a workout schedule for me customized on the Kili route I'll be climbing. It included workouts like: stairs, treadmill with weighed backpack, strength training program and hiking. I kept this schedule close by at all times during my training.
Malisa (with a cute pregnant belly), Andrew and Andy + our dogs met for a hike last weekend.
My way supportive, and cute, Andy taking a breather on the trail.
The day I left for the airport, my very supportive - and all-around awesome coworkers - decorated my desk with some well-wishes from men who "inspire" me. Every time I returned to my desk there was a new dude taped to my monitor! The day began, as pictured, with Bono and Jimmy Chin. :)
