Our timing was right on for the release of Pliny the Younger, a famous Imperial IPA on tap for only 2 weeks in Santa Rosa.
There she is...completely worth all of the hype.
We stayed a while.
Charles Schulz lived in Santa Rosa while he was creating the Peanuts comics. The city wanted to erect a statue of him but he refused and asked that they put statues of Peanuts characters around the town instead, which they did...all over the place!
The Peanuts were a big part of my childhood, which inspired this impromptu "Peanuts hunt" to find as many statues as we could around town. Here's the first one.
Northern California (NoCal) themed Snoopy.
Detail in Lucy's dress.
Marcy! I did not expect to see her! It was a lovely surprise.
In the midst of our happy Peanuts hunt, the evil banana reared its ugly head. Boo.
Lucy as Lucille Ball! I think BethAnn would have fainted if she saw this...it's the culmination our favorite TV shows [minus The Bionic Woman, of course].
Endearing, isn't it?
I'm making out with Woodstock.
"When your body gets tired, let your heart take over." Thanks, Snoopy.
Chuck in Santa Rosa's Railroad Square.
Aviation themed Woodstock - that's me doing my signature "Happy Plane" move.
Wine-country themed Lucy.
Girl after my own heart!
Just plain classic. I love this one. Thanks to Jackie for the quick text message reply on the location of this one.
It said an ''Ode to Friendship" at the foot of this statue. That inspired the face I'm making here. Too funny not to share!
I don't know what Snoopy is supposed to be doing here. French fisherman Snoopy?
