NCC - Who Wants to Be a “Bill-ionaire?” Event date: 04/17/2013 - 1:00pm to 2:00pm Location: Abington Who should attend: KidsTeen Wednesday, April 17, 2013 @ 1:00 p.m. For homeschoolers ages 8-13 Who Wants to Be a “Bill-ionaire?” During this fast-paced game show, students will learn about the Bill of Rights and its creation. Each participant will submit his or her answer using electronic voting devices; then our dynamic educational “host” will reveal the correct responses and the students’ voting results. Registration will begin Wednesday, April 3. Space is limited to 35 children. Sign up in the Children’s Department or call (215) 885-5180, ext. 28.

Busy Library

The Abington Township Public Library was bustling with activity in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. The Library’s power was restored on Wednesday afternoon and the building was immediately opened to serve local residents. The Library served as a “community living room” for those residents still without power at home. Patrons hurried in to use both the library’s computers and their own laptops to check email and bring themselves up-to-date on local and world events. Many came in just to keep warm or to find a good book to read while waiting for power to be restored. The Abington Free Library is pleased to have been of service to our library family during the emergency.
