Guy Posts and Trees
I had a large Elm tree fall over due to all the rain we have had the last 2 weeks. Here is a good reason to put your tower and guys away from trees at all cost. The tower was still up but the tree was laying on the top guy and 2 guy posts had been almost pulled out of the ground, I tried to take pressure off the guy to re route but everything had been compromised and down she went. Probably the best thing really... Lesson learned.
But I have to say the swoooosh sound as I watched years of work and antennas built heading for the ground was kinda eerie! 120ft Rohn 55, 2 ele 40, 5/5 10m stack, and all my low band antennas gone in about 4 seconds!
