“It was a surprise and very awesome,” said newly promoted Staff Sgt. Brian J. Jacobson, Aviation Operations Battle NCO for Headquarters, Headquarters Company, Task Force 34 and a native of Lake City, Minn. He received a Battlefield Promotion to E6 in front of his peers of Headquarters, Headquarters Company, Task Force 34 on Joint Base Balad, Iraq March 20.
