On the Innocent Railway cycle path. Waiting for the puncture party to catch us up.
They're coming...
Getting closer.
NCR 1 near Queen Margaret's College - now upgraded and lit with solar lamp posts.
Reverse view.
On the Whitecraigs to Dalkeith railway path - mustering at the second puncture.
More mustering.
Climbing Some of the hill.
A Gateway to the East - at the beginning of the Pencaitland railway path. A useful point to remember for a later date.
Again
This was our highest point, near the new Dalkeith bypass. On the Closed road. Surely they don't really mean closed?
Yes they do. Closed with a big pile of gravel in the middle of it. So we skirted round the sides of the pile of gravel to reach the beautiful smooth new road on the far side.
Lovely new road...
...Which ended in a massive puddle that means the road is REALLY closed...
...unless you're prepared to push your bike up this muddy bank...
...and then walk along the grass at the top of the puddle...
...to the real road in the distance.
Success!
