Rust thru in a usual spot. It will get a patch panel.
Lower section of door and skin are rusted thru. Replacement doors will be the best fix.
Here is why I got the truck so cheap. This is one UGLY looking interior! Soon will have white seats and door panels and new dark turquoise carpet. Wheel will be replaced with SS 350 Camaro wheel with leather cover.
Original Azue Turquoise paint shows up here.
Door panels are pretty decent for 39 years old, but I'm changing the interior to pearl white
Doors have some rust "issues" - I have some replacements .
12 bolt rear axle New exhaust system is on the list, right after a wash job!
Great running 350 with Weiand intake and Holley dual feed 4 bbl carb. Factory power disc bakes.
Someone in the past chrome plated the A arms!
Finned cast aluminum covers are a nice custom touch. Engine runs great! Holley 4 barrel carb is just right.
Factory Super Sport hood has been installed,
Failed bondo repair on the hood ridge. Metal will get reworked properly.
New replacement tinted windshield. Ugly crack in the dash pad right in the middle, new one will be installed. Factory Bucket seats are a big plus.
This is the good one! Passenger seat after 39 years of use.
Untouched and in pretty good shape overall. New upholstery will be a big improvement.
Latch release button snaps out to reveal the screws that hold on the shell.

Side of driver's seat. Bolts hold the hinge to the back-rest. Rear adjustment track mount on the right.
Factory part numbers, I guess.
The backside of the seat back upholstery. The button attachment is different on the new stuff, but works as well, I guess.
Part number and a date code of some kind
More factory stamps
Seat adjustment tracks - a bit of surface rust, not too bad for all the years gone by.
The center area is pretty much shot. Burlap shredded, foam cut and sticking thru.
Bottom of driver's side seat, back removed, tracks still in place.
Seat bottom with mounting tracks removed. slots are whre the back of the cover was attached to the frame. Factory cardboard has held up very well!
Pliers point to location of rings that hold the rear panel of the bottom cushion to the seat frame springs.
I made money on this job!!
Trim Broadcast sheet inside the passenger seat bottom.
That is a satisfying upgrade!!

Great summer day on looking toward Seattle
It doesn't get much better than this!!
Proud Preston Puppy
Preston is enjoying talking to the other dogs down at Alki Beach in Seattle.

Downtown Seattle Skyline. Tallest building on the right is Columbia Tower
Beautiful Seattle from Alki. Ferry, sailboat, paraglider, Space Needle. Just another day in Paradise...
Fixed the High Beam indicator - love that little bowtie icon - classy!
almost 40 years of crap at the inside bottom of a rusted door. This organic material holds the moisture next to the metal and creates rust holes
inside the door - left is the inside of the outer door skin. Notice the sound dampener sprayed on.
Inside the passenger door looking back to the latch mechanism. Top bent rod is the door push button rod. Lock cylinder and rust colored arm attach to the lock lever. Window track on the right

Sweet deal on these new door panels - They are original design for 1968 Olds Cutlass but they fit perfectly and look sharp! I painted the armrest housing with Plastic paint and used Vinyl dye with a pearl topcoat for the armrest vinyl.
Found inside the passenger seat. 8457 matches the VIN
1967 el Camino with SOHC Chev Small Block !!! It's a toothed belt driven system - very interesting. Enlarge the photo in the upper left then move around for a better look. Scanned from Oct. 2008 Drive! mag.
Wheel from a 1968 Camaro SS 350. I padded the rim and installed a stitch on leather cover. Feels great in hand.
