This (in front of the bride) is the Negaffa; she is not quite in focus, because she was never still long enough to shoot!

it is ALL about the photographs; this is a family friend having her photo made with the couple
Mama' Fatima (who hosted the wedding) the bride and groom, and Fatima Zora (Mama's daughter)
Q and Fatima Zora toward the end....getting a bit tired I think..
Behind the curtain (being guarded by a quite formidable woman) is where the bride and goom changed costumes. The mother of the bride and the matron of honor also changed clothes two or three times
her comment was, "Why can't I sit in the Wedding Chair now? I have on the dress!"
How do you get to Carnegie Hall?
here comes the Bride
must get it just right..
the Berber influence; the veil is pearls (a representation for all excepting the King and Celiene Dion I should think)
putting the bride in the chair; in the museum we saw the BOX they used to put them in...this is the modern version
the best close up I could get of the veil (you can see the younger viewers were interested as well) . The veil was removed before she was lifted in the chair for the dancing.
again with the fixing by the Nagaffa
"...someday that will be me!"
with the veil pulled back
there's that spotlight; and she just sat there for five or more minutes while the film rolled.
now the music, and much clapping and joyful singing and mutalating (the high cry)
really, just so pretty!
just one more adjustment before the dancing
and she's up! Note her hands (and you cannot see her feet) are heavily henna-ed.
the hand motions are to send good luck to the bride in her new life
getting the groom out of the way; he was led to the wedding chair to watch
NOW the men dance!
that is the DJ/singer over in the back. THis kid earned his money as well! He sang all night, and was quite good.
the full costume
Now the groom
Q helping with the clapping
tossing the good luck to the bride
the wedding cake; a final push for all of us into a diabetic coma!
now members of the wedding party (and some others I could not define) lined up for photos in the wedding chair
everyone into the Wedding Chair; parents of the bride
note the bride and groom!
the European influence part of our program
the SIXTH, and final costume change!
they cut the cake, fed each other a piece; AND tossed the bouquet! surreal
obviouls this is not a job for beginners..
the main wedding party
"Now I have the dress, and the cake!"
Mirium's mom, Mama' Fatima and Fatima Zora and the ubiqutious camera guy
