Juvenile Yellow Eyed Penguin in a penguin reserve on the Otago Peninsula outside Dunedin. The YEP is one of the rarest penguin species in the world mainly due to habitat loss. These penguins live here year round and like to nest under trees and bush up to a couple kilometers away from the water! They can't fly but they are plucky little climbers, despite those short legs!
