The stairs, while crazy steep are better than the alternative you can see to the right.
Choose your own adventure.
Wishing for those stairs.
Nam (South) Dokyousan - the southern peak on the Dokyousan ridge.
The constant wind when above treeline was one of my favorite things about this park.
Self-portrait.
Near sunset, looking south from Chung-bong.
Our favorite shelter in the the park. The pictures on the wall are all taken by the ranger working there.
From the top of Hyangcheok-bong. The peak in the far distance to the left of the tower is Cheon-wang-bong in Jirisan NP - where we started.
Chris finally gets some juice.
The Korean actually says "Club Duke Nite Club" but I think the English explanation is better.
Cosomos - my favorite flower!
Sunrise from Hyangjeok-bong shelter.
Chris has found a new addiction - grape and plum flavored hard candy.
He has also discovered coffee machines - this one served ice coffee!
In all the parks, we've found water and scrub brushes to clean your shoes after hiking. This entraced provided compressed air. Note the happy bear with the sparkling clean shoes!
Chris has been dying to go swimming - and we found the perfect swimming hole - but alas swimming was not allowed.
I have been dying to drink Makkolli (rice wine) and each potato pancakes along the trail.
Have a good rest.
Baekryonsa Temple.
Painting on the side of the four guardians gate.
If anyone can explain this or the next painting we would like to know more about it. It seems to be a Purgatory and Nirvana painting - which we didn't think to be a concept associated with Buddhism.
More coffee, and the new theme for our trip "Maximize your happiness."
