Burned out plane on USS Bonhomme Richard
"Hospital" in USS Bonhomme Richard. It apparently wins a lot of awards for best medical center in the fleet.
Look at all that space to sleep.
Enlisted sleep here, but at least no hot bunking
From the control center (where the cap. sits)

USS Jefferson City in dock
Group I went with plus some ship folks. It was interesting that when ships crew left the sub they turned and saluted. It reminded me of a martial artist bowing when they leave the mat.
fuzzy picture of ships computers in main deck.
Nice picture of the main control area. We weren't allowed to take pictures of the steering parts (behind me as I take the picture). 10 people work in this room when at sea.
NCO room for meeting etc.
A bit fizzy, but you can see the resistors and caps in there. If you burn them, I guess you unscrew them and replace them. Kinda neat
That's a torpedo.
Rack for a torpedo I think
Folks on the USS Bonhomme Richard. Middle guy is the captain. The two on the left are some type of petty officers, while the two on the right were the Navy folks that brought us to SD.
Whole group of tourists!
Apparently you need to "qualify" on a given ship. Those are the symbols navy folks wear once they've qualified on the ship they are assigned to.
Also, notice the green H. That is the hospital award for the ship (won 5 times!)
