This kit is a very easy build and compares to the Tamiya GMC CCKW positively. With the hard top cab, it s challenging to find a way to paint and decal the inside.
The cargo tarp cover is made from facial tissue paper. In retrospect, it is NOT the best material for this application. The whit glue is fine for getting it to hold its shape, but CA glue will be needed to get it to stay put.
The hood star is a decal, but the rest of the stars are stencil airbrushed.
ICM decal film falls apart when introduced to water. :( I used Testor's clear decal film and ran it through my inkjet printer. It works for the most part, but I needed to add more of the decal setting spray. This is to prevent the ink from washing off the film.
I built this truck so the hood, doors, top and rear of the cab come off in one piece.
I have paletted cargo, which slid into the cargo box when the tailgate is lowered.
