Official SotC Wallpapers

Wallpapers from the official North American and Japanese sites, in their highest resolution (1600x1200). It should be noted that not all of the North American wallpapers shown here are on the official site any longer. The reason for this is the North American SotC website was, for whatever reason, "reverted" to a much earlier version of itself, and is now essentially broken - there's no music, only three colossi pages to visit (previously there were at least six), nothing at all in the "Game Info" section but an empty box, etc. In addition, the European version of the official SotC site is completely gone. It used to be at shadowofthecolossus.com, but that URL now just redirects to the main PlayStation UK site. If anyone managed to save any wallpapers from the old European site, please let me know so I can put them up here.

Movies and High-Res Screenshots

High-resolution renders of gameplay from Shadow of the Colossus, including earlier versions of the game (where the colossi had differently-shaped eyes, as one example). Most of the screenshots are at or around 2048×1526 resolution - perfect for making wallpapers of any size. This gallery also includes a few movies of major events in the game - don't watch if you don't want the game spoiled. (Note: Most of the movies are coming soon; I'm having a few technical difficulties with them at the moment.)

Viral Marketing Campaign Media

Sony launched an extensive viral marketing campaign for Shadow of the Colossus in early October of 2005, shortly before the game's first launch in North America. The hub website for the campaign was a Typepad blog called "Giantology", which posted links to five different "discoveries" around the world (see map below) of the supposed remains of five of the game's sixteen colossi. Though the Giantology blog and all linked media have long since been taken down, the many pictures and movies from this suprisingly heavy marketing push have all been saved here.

Ico Tribute

Screenshots, wallpapers, production sketches and movies and more from Ico, the 2001 PS2 game that preceded Shadow of the Colossus. The game involved a cursed boy, Ico, born with horns, sent off to a remote castle and placed in a stone casket. Shortly after breaking free, he discovers an ethereal girl, Yorda, who is somehow tied to the castle, as well as its mysterious queen and her army of shadow creatures. Much of Ico's graphical style and architecture can be seen in Shadow of the Colossus.
