BCC 1s vs Watsonian 2s
After a week of mixed weather and some heavy showers on Friday it was not a good wicket to lose another toss. Unfortunately, we were inserted and we were in all sorts of trouble at 3 for 4 in the forth over. Kevin (23) on his return match from a tour in Afganistan played well with Manish (13), until the fleet-footed Sachdeva was caught short trying to sneak a quick single with a direct hit run out. From 6 for 27, Sumanth, Ed, and Hassan showed some fight back and got us to 88 in the 35th over, which at least gave us a chance.
In the field we looked good, with good tight bowling from big Sumanth (1 for 4 off 5) getting us an early breakthrough, a couple of good catches from Hassan and good spells from Dave (2 for 25) and Kevin (2 for 33). But luck was not on our side on the day and with 30 more runs I think we may have given it a good shake. We scraped 4pts out of the game and have plenty to work on at nets on Wednesday.
