View of the "Rats Nest" as my wife calls it. I installed a cheap $40 wire rack from Target and use that to hold my cable modem, Buffalo Router running DD-WRT, 5 port Gigabit Switch along side my 16 port 10/100 switch. You can also see my home built HTPC stright ahead which is running windows Media Center Edition 2005, with 4 ATSC tuners, and 2 NTSC tuners for a grand total of 6 tuners. I have two 500 gig HDD's in Raid 0 to give me a total of 1TB storage for DVRing. I then use an xbox 360 in my bedroom as a media center extender so that I can stream live and recorded tv (SD and HD) to my bedroom which has a 32" Syntax Olevia LCD 720p tv.
PC on the Right is my HTPC running Windows Media Center 2005 (soon will be upgraded to Vista), the PC on the Left is my new file server running Windows Home Server, the WHS box has a total of 9 hdd's of various sizes giving me nearly 3.5TB of total storage.
Upper view of A/V rack inside the "rats nest" I have an old 17" CRT monitor on a KVM switch I use to switch between the two pc's when needed. You can also see the mini UPS I have setup for my cable modem and router.
Again another view of the "rats nest"
My Make Shift A/V distribution block. On the right is the cable tv splitter and on the right is the TV antenna splitter that runs to all of my ATSC tuners in my HTPC.
Close-up view of my in-wall A/V rack. Top shelf is the monster power conditioner. Next shelf is the Monoprice 5x1 HDMI splitter, the Motorola HD DVR, and the 5 disc dvd changer, next shelf is the Xbox 360 with HD DVD add on drive, and final shelf is the divx connected media streaming device and my yamaha A/V receiver.
Close up of the Divx Connected media streaming device. I was part of the Divx Connected beta test.
Custom built in-wall A/V rack. I had my carpenter build the A/V rack along with my Wet Bar (not pictured). I think it turned out great. I also have two spare shelfs if I ever need to reconfigure the setup.
Another view of my HTPC. What is great about this setup is that the Antec Sonata II case is that is has two 120mm fans one for intake and one for exhaust as well as the power supply has a 120mm fan when set to low speed the system is completely silent, and also for the fact that it is hidden away inside the "rats nest" A/V closet it is completely in-audible from the viewing area.
UPS, Cable Modem, Buffalo WHR-HP-54G wireless router running third party DD-WRT firmware.
one of the external HDD's for my WHS box, and also my two switches for my home network. Right now only my office pc's, WHS pc, and my HTPC are on the gigabit switch, everything else is on the 10/100 switch that sits underneath the gigabit switch.
Front view of my theater room/media room setup. main attraction is the 106" Elite fixed frame 1.0 gain screen. The two Klipsch RF-35 Towers, the RC-35 Center channel, and the two modified Insignia book shelf speakers.

Ceiling mounted Panasonic PT-AE900U 720p 3LCD projector.
Insignia 6-1/2" 2-way Coaxial book shelf speakers, these are a best buy special that I picked up for $40/pair. These were an absolute steal of a deal. For anyone looking for a cheap great sounding speaker for use in surround sound setups or just regular two channel audio listening I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone.

weird angle view of center channel and screen.
View of in-wall A/V rack, with the "rats nest" door closed. Thats the great thing about A/V closets is that you can setup everything and have it hidden so that no one has to see the mess of wires. Maybe one day I'll eventually find the time to clean up the wires and make everything look nice and neat.
