Saint Cloud Soldiers Return
Fifteen soldiers from C Company, 171st General Support Aviation Brigade, Minnesota National Guard returned from a one-year deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
"I'm extremely proud of my company and their ability to meet any mission in extreme conditions," said Army Capt. Jeremy D. DeGier, C Company Commander.
"We flew more than 3,800 hours and conducted more than 1,300 missions," said DeGier. "We are safely back on U.S. soil and our company motto 'Heaven Can Wait' held true to form."
"We provided medical evacuation support to more than 1,700 patients by use of three, UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters throughout Regional Command Southwest, Helmand Province, Afghanistan," said Army Chief Warrant Officer Curtis E. Skoog, standardization/instructor pilot for C Company.
C Company, 1-171st General Support Aviation Battalion, is headquartered in New Mexico with one platoon located in St. Cloud, Minn., said Skoog.
