"You may wonder: why a personal water bowl for each dog? Because (1) Gertie refuses to drink until no one looks at her and drinks only when she is really really thirsty, (2) Baker being practically blind has trouble locating the water unless it is nearby and (3) Betty by now slurps out of anything when she is thirsty and gets refills without upsetting the other still finicky dogs."
