Here's the start of the Kal-Haven trail. An antique caboose where you pay a very reasonable $3/day or $35 annual family pass. If no one is there to collect, you simply ride on.
At the head of the trail. Ready to head west on the Kal-Haven. After a few miles in that direction, we went east on the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail to down town Kalamazoo.
Stuart loads and unloads the bikes in a matter of seconds from the back of the car.
Our destination as we entered downtown Kalamazoo from the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail.
Water Street Coffee Joint offers more than great coffee! They weigh your bowl and then you can fill it with whatever you like and pay for it by weight. The kale salad was only $1.92!
Stuart looks over his pork barbeque bun--we shared it. Tasty!
The chicken pecan and kale salad at Water Street Coffee Joint. Delicious, nutritious, and low in calories. No mayo--or very little.
Yesterday's bike ride had Arby's for it's halfway point. This whole meal was only $5! Delicious, too. Better plan for the calories, however. The Italian sub has 780 juicy ones! Notice the acorn in front. Fell out of my helmet which protected my head from its ping.
