What photo album would be complete without a random Ferarri??? This was spotted outside the swanky Italian restaurant we went to eat at. Funny how we were all impressed and bought into this was a real Italian place we were going to, complete with Italian cars.
So here we are at the "Italian" place for dinner on Friday night. Turns out there was nothing Italian about this place - it was a tapas restaurant.
Here's Tim and me, after Eddie explains there's no lasagna here... Not cool dude. Not cool.
The only thing that saved this place was the excellent food and the even better margaritas. Only problem with the 'ritas was that I only had ice cream for lunch. Never have oatmeal raisin ice cream for lunch and start out dinner with two margaritas. No good can come of it.
Eddie, hanging out with his hot chick friends from Dell. What he doesn't want you to know is that their husbands were both sitting across the table from him...
Timmy throwing up his "Big Ed" gang sign in the stylin Toyota (Welcome to the) Matrix.
The glamorous hotel where we stayed.
And the glamorous Rotary Club license plate in the parking garage.
We blew about two hours sitting around the hotel lobby while Eddie took random pictures of people while we pretended not to know him.
There was a wedding party there, getting ready for the big day, except one of the "Father of the Bride" looking guys pulled his car up to the valet and left it running. Before the valet could park it, some random guy jumped in and drove off. Eddie took pictures of the guy reporting this to the cops.
Random shot of the hotel where we were staying.
The hotel had these giant hanging mobiles inside the atrium, and this is a close op of one of them.
Photo of the bride.
More random photos from inside the hotel.
Photo of the bride's cousin. Or something.
Will, stylin for Eddie as he snaps one of about 8billion photos.
Synchronized texting, trying to get Eddie's attention away from the camera. Obviously it didn't work.
After bidding Tim goodbye, we headed even farther out west. Really!
...And went Vespa shopping in downtown Austin. Ok, not really. No sane guy would go Vespa shopping in Texas.
The Capital of Austin!
Some other random stately looking building in Austin.
I'm fine, thank you very much. And this person is correct - they should NOT be put back into prison for this - it's clearly mental institute material.
"Who is this Faustin guy anyway? Oh, wait, there's a period in there somewhere..."
Dude - it's not the Lone Star if you put like 31 of them on there...
Eddie's old house in rural Austin.
Luckily there was no one home.
Random long horn sighting along the highway. Apparently many office buildings put cows in their back lots to get the "ranch" tax break.
Another long horn sighting of a different type. Be careful - red makes them charge...
The Matrix did not like being left in first gear for extended periods of time. Especially at speeds approaching 40mph. Funny how that didn't stop Ed.
After a trip to Tony's house where I neglected to take any pictures, we made a run for the County Line. Really. The County Line BBQ joint. There was much eating.
After recovering from the roughly 10 lbs of beef, ham, chicken, and potato products eaten at the County Line, ZTejas was lucky to see us before noon. Somehow we made it there in time for breakfast though. Maybe it's because they served breakfast for all meals. Maybe not.
After we finished with "Breakfast" we went to Lake Travis for some "Lunch". "Lunch" in this case consisted of a margarita and some cheesecake. Delish!
Lake Travis, in all its glory. We spent about an hour here messing around with the cameras and trying out different settings. Mostly we got pictures that were out of focus, all white, all black, or very poorly composed. Guess which this is a sample of?
Finally, it was time to take Will to the airport. Before we got there, we had a holy intervention of sorts. Unfortunately, it appears that even the Lord's Vineyard is still subject to the Texas Blue Laws, so we had to press on...
I feel welcomed! Too bad we were just leaving.
And off I went, back to DC. Ed had about a week left to go before he shipped out to India. I'm not sure who had it worse.
