Maple St. Master Bedroom

This bedroom was completely cleared out. The homeowner started the project by scraping the popcorn ceiling. Wise Guys smoothed the ceiling with joint compound, then sanded, primed, and painted. 3 peice crown molding was installed and was painted a high gloss white. The walls were painted with Sherwin Williams Duration Matte paint. A ceiling fan was hung, and new a new bedroom suite was assembled.

2008 RCA Award: Best Bathroom Remodel under $20,000.00

This project was the second of two complete remodels in a charming Shandon home. Similar to the first, this bath was inspired by visits to luxury spas and resorts such as the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC. The Wise Guys recieved the 2008 RCA for Best Bath Remodel under $20,000.00.

Antique Door Installation

This antique farm door was purchased from a salvage yard in Charlotte, NC. It is a perfect fit for this homeowner-built greenhouse and conservatory. Heavy Duty solid stainless hinges are need to support the weight of this old door and weather the elements of a damp enviroment.

Wheat St. Custom Gate

This gate was a gift to Sonoma (the family dog) so she could guard the driveway from lions, tigers, and bears. It will also provide a safe play area for tricycles and bigwheels.

Custom Privacy Fence, Wheat St.

After the simulataneous construction of custom pools by next-door neighbors, it was time for a big privacy fence. 6x6 posts give the fence a solid look and feel. A custom round-top gate was built and installed at the end of the driveway.

Duncan St. Pergola

The goal of this project was to provide an established area in the yard for placing a table and chairs. The materials were chosen to blend with an existing pool deck. The arbor provides shade during the hot summer months, as well as a perfect spot for an outdoor fireplace for the cool days of fall and winter.

Porch Re-Screening, Duncan, St.

The homeowners loved the large screened porch across the back of the their home, but their curious cats managed to put several large gashes in the screen. This allowed bugs to get in, but also didn't keep the cats from going out. Heavy hardware cloth (wire mesh) was installed across the bottom 4 feet, and when covered by the black screen, provided a barrier for the cats while not taking away from the view. The ScreenTite system was installed for it's good lucks and easy repair.

Walters, Exterior Repairs

Mrs. Walters home was in need of several exterior repairs to the woodwork, and on a storage room door. We used a drip edge to protect the facia and trim from future water damage.

Exterior Painting, Monroe St.

This brick home had several layers of flakey paint, and had heavy vegetation covering large sections. The bushes and vines were trimmed back and the house recieved the full treatment of heavy pressure washing, scraping, sanding, and spot priming. A thick coat of high quality paint was rolled onto the brick, and brushed on the windows. The storm windows were re secured and sealed to protect the original wood windows from the elements.

2007 RCA Award: Screen Porch Addition, Wheat St.

This project began as a simple screen porch addition and turned into a beautiful yearround living space that earned the 2007 Remodeler's Council "Best Outdoor Living Remodel" award. The project also included a brick paver patio outside and 6ft Privacy fence around the entire perimeter of the backyard.

Exterior Re-Hab, Corner of Blossom and Maple St.

This early 1900's home has served as a family home as well as a rental for almost a century. The exterior had fading aluminum siding and considerable damage to the eves and masonry. The Wiseguys gave this home a face-lift litterally from the ground up. The home recieved lots of new trim, brick and mortar, and was painted top to bottom. Heavy vegetation including one large tree were removed, and a fence was constructed giving the residents privacy in the back yard, as well as provding a screen for the large parking area in the rear.

Column Replacement, Rosebank Dr.

This brick home has stood well to the elements, but the front porch columns were in need of repair or replacement. The homeowner opted for high quality fiberglass collumns which have the look and feel of wood, but are virtually maintenance free. Spending a little more upfront for high quality materials often pays for itself by limiting future maintenance costs.

Storm Window Installation, Sunnyside Drive

This owners of this old home love the charm of the original doors and moldings, but were losing a lot of heat in the winter through the old wood windows. New aluminum storm windows were installed on the home to block out the elements and protect the woodwork. Storm windows pay for themselves over time by reducing both energy costs and maintenance.

Screened Deck, Cardross Dr.

While the homeowners enjoyed this large deck, they knew it would be much more comfortable and versatile with a roof and screening. It was imporant to keep the natural light for the adjoining interior rooms, so a clear corrugated roof was installed. Heavy hardware cloth (wire mesh) was used on the exterior to keep rodents out and away from the family cats.

Exterior Re-hab, Shandon

A vintage glass front porch did not do this Shandon home justice, and the homeowners stated that the porch was rarely comfortable for sitting. While they didn't want to lose heated square footage, the porch just simply wasn't meeting their needs. The Wise Guys removed all of the glass and framing from the porch and added 2 large fiberglass collumns. The entire home was painted including the wooden front porch floor. A new set of brick stairs was custom built, and a brick border walkway leads visitors in off of the sidwalk. A new black high-profile roof "caps" off this amazing before and after.

This a 8x10 shed/building that was in need of some cosmetic rehab, and new doors. The project was completed in 1 day, and the before and after looks great.

Trash Screen.

This fence was built to provide a screen for the trash cans, linens, and other unsightly items behind a restaurant. This was needed because the entrance to an architecture studio is right beside it.

Gate Project

This homeowner had a garden arbor framed as part of a large remodeling project. The Wise Guys were asked to build and install this new arch-top gate. After a few months of drying in the sun, the gate is ready for a matching paint job.

Basement Renovation, Woodhill Circle

This basement has served its owner proudly for over 30 years. It was time for a facelift, and the Wise Guys took on the task. The basement was cleared, and the walls and floor were pressure washed. The walls got a good coat of mildew resistant paint, and the floors were covered with a heavy oil-based floor enamel. The space went from dark and gloomy to clean and bright. Keep it classy down there Jack!

Yellow exterior paint, Wilmot Ave.

This home located on Wilmot Avenue in Shandon was due for a 10-15 year overall. The masonite siding had faded paint and was heavily damaged in some areas inclucing the dormers. The repairs were made using long-lasting materials. The entire house was primed and painted with high quality paint.
