Holland work trip

Alex Moss (my friend and a great work assist provider), along with myself spent one week in a beautiful friendly Holland. Worked over 40 hours and saw little more than the location we worked and the hotel cafe. Cafe et hotel Centrum in beautiful Rozenburg, Holland. Located near Europort/Botlek. I know I would love to get back and see what was missed on this working expedition.

Lotus Flowers

Lotus Flowers near end of bloom season. Shot on the Mackay Island National Wildlife Refuge a few short miles from my house. Shot with my Olympus E3 and Sigma 400mm Lens. I used a tripod due to lens size, and many shots (subtle color) were shot in the heavy shade. The art designs are being planned for a t-shirt to be sold at the local Knotts Island Market. I provide those images free of rights to the market. Enjoy!

Sam Walton's first store Bentonville, AR

Sam "WalMart" Walton and his wife opened this 5 and 10 cent store in Bentonville, Arkansas. Enterprising and demanding superb customer service, he and his family grew this store into the world wide business - Wal*Mart. Great story about a great entrepeneur!

San Diego - Westin and my 5 mile walk

More San Diego - Showing everything that caught my eye this afternoon while taking my daily 5 mile hike. Hope you enjoy! (Oh, I took the ferry boat from downtown, across to Coronado. Really pretty place and an important part of my life - was there over 50 years ago as a teenager, waterskiing with a friend from my school and his family. What a nice day - and lots of things caught my eye!

NEW MEXICO TRIP 2009

New Mexico Trip 2009. Balloon Fiesta, and the road trip that takes us from Albuquerque NM, to Santa Fe, Taos, Chama, Shiprock NM. Then onto Monument Valley on the Arizona, Utah border. South from there to Chinle, AZ and Canyon De Chelly. South again from there, through Window Rock AZ, and into New Mexico. From Gallup we head East to Crownpoint and Acoma Sky City NM. This album will be added to from time to time - so many photographs, so little time to edit them.

Petroglyphs National Monument, Albuquerque NM

American Indians came to the lush Rio Grande Valley, that ultimately came to be the "Duke City," Albuquerque. Perhaps the only form of communication between these travelers were these etching, scored into the volcanic rocks that border the western part of the area. Petroglyph National Monument has worked to preserve these notes from 1000s of year past - to be enjoyed today by travelers to the area.

This Bill Worrell sculpture standing in front of a Santa Fe NM Art Store demanded to be layered out of the image and placed here. Lots of work, but I like the final product. Not a perfect study of mine, these "Shaman" sculptures deal with human existence, soul, (this one perhaps) farm blessings from the branch in the right hand. The crow in flight is the human soul suspended in time. The antlers gives one a link to all nature that is around this soul, and that this particular Shaman is larger than common man. You can read up on this "Shamanism" online - it is a most interesting study/read.

Nansemond Indian Nation Pow Wow - Chesapeake Virginia, June 6-7 2009

A celebration of dine, fellowship and dance. The Nansemond Indian Nation Pow Wow was held at the Chesapeake City Park. Tribes of 4 different feathers gathered here for a celebration that included a special tribute to veterans. This folder is not yet complete, but wanted to get these images up to share.

Panoramics 1/12/09 7:51 AM

This album is a repository for images that I have assembled as PANORAMICS. Simply shot three images simultaeneously and after uploading files, assembed these files in CS3 Photoshop, "Photomerge." This is a unfinished album and new panoramics will be uploaded here as I produce them. Due to the very large size of original files, these files appear at a bit less quality than the originals. Some of these files are over 90mb each. Space and viewing time demands that I reduce the files here.

Photoshop CS3 and Topaz Adjust, Topaz Simplify, Topaz Denoise

This group of images are contained in albums elsewhere on this site. I have taken, and will continue to add to this album as I exercise this amazingly simple filter option in Adobe Photoshop CS3. Topaz Adjust is an incredible new tool in image filtering. It can bring out a dramatic HDR effect in a single exposed image. Very versatile and intuitive. A must have for any serious imager. Painting and line drawing from your images is made child's play with Topaz Simplify. One of the best "Noise" filters on the market, Topaz Denoise. These filters, a little free-spirit and one can push his art to whatever level they choose. Now isn't that sweet!

New Mexico Holiday 10/11/08

A 2 day trip (way too many miles and not enough time), through some of the most remarkable, and beautiful countryside this old guy has ever seen. Pristine and natural, this New Mexico Journey has really had an impact on me from a creative viewpoint. I hope you enjoy my images - I do like the fact that I can sustain this trip a bit longer by viewing them now that I am home. Thanks to all the warm hospitality and wonderful people that made me feel at home in my travels. I will be back - that is for certain. - Tim Gilliam

Clearfield Utah Area

Driving around immediate area of Clearfield, UT on arrival day. It had been snowing earlier in the day - the mountains were well dusted. What fell in town - melted as it hit the ground. The Wasatch Mountains are a beauty to behold, as they rise up east from the Great Salt Lake.

Afternoon at the Blackwater Trading Post

A small country store - and the view from the parking lot of the biggest little store in this Blackwater area of Virginia Beach. Stop by and check out the Rattlesnake "rattler" exhibit. Sunoco Gas and the Virginia Lottery - all contribute to the many residents of Gibb's Woods and Blackwater dropping by. You can launch your boat for 4 bucks, pick up an essentials and get back home in a hurry - within this rural Virginia community.

Manteca Christmas House

Manteca Ca - A Pacific Gas and Electric employee, residing in Manteca has turned his home into a CHRISTMAS FANTASY for all to see. Over 125,000 lights. Santa makes his call every Saturday night in December plus on Christmas Eve, and local neighbors and other volunteer Elves serve up coffee, cookies, hot chocolate and hot cider on Friday and Saturday nights. These images don't hold a candle to the FESTIVE MOOD crafted by this homeowner.

Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta - 3 days in October 2007

A sensory overload - color, sound, amazement of the hundreds of balloons aloft, the 1000's of spectators infiltrating the launch sites and the beauty of a crisp cool New Mexico morning. All this is the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta 2007. Special thanks to Launch Director Mike Laplante for making this happen for me - I will surely become a Fiesta Junky and veteran in the coming years.
