Every year, Gallaries Lafayette does an impressive light display for the holidays
This year it was amazing, with incredible lights intended to give the effect of cathedrals' stained glass windows

We also went to an amazing exhibition of Egyptian artifacts at the Grand Palais
It showed the pieces that had been recovered from various expeditions near Alexandria, and thus had many Greek influenced pieces of Egyptian art.
The expeditions were done in the Mediterranean off the northern coast of Africa starting in 1997.
..it was amazing to watch video footage of the work alongside the amazing artifacts they recovered from the sea.

Most impressive to us, however, were these enormous statues that represented the pharo, his queen, and the various gods worshipped during that time.
