Statues in a Chinese Buddhist temple on our tour.
Flowers from the rose garden.
A wierd part of the exhibit at the roses place. Sleepy, as usual, looks a little stoned but happier than "Gruupy".
Em looking out from the viewpoint into the highlands.
Strawberries from the strawberry farm. We were NOT allowed to pick any.
We were allowed to pay to eat them over ice-cream, though!
The tea fields of the BOH tea company, the largest in Malaysia.
Giant spider at the butterfly farm.
The green stick is actually a "stick insect". They were pretty neat to see, along with the "dead leaf" insect. I'll let you guess exactly what they looked like.
Up close with the National butterfly of Malaysia.
The Peters Projection world map. This map shows actual land mass areas relative to each other. While it has limitations of it's own (as do all maps), it made me gasp when I realized that the Mercator and all others that I've seen since birth are so amazingly deceptive in land mass size representation. See http://www.petersmap.com/ for a discussion.
Robinson Falls, in the jungle on our hike up a mountain.
Not exactly a well-worn hiking trail underneath me.
The view from the top of Gunung Beremban (1810, 1812, or 1840 meters, depending on what source you use!)
There is trail somewhere in there. You just have to use your hands to crawl over/through it.
Em and I displaying the official "backpacker-look" on our way to the bus station to Kuala Lumpur.
