Colosseum.
Just a picture that I liked a lot.
I think that this is showing the land that the Roman empire controlled during it's peak. Impressive.
Some crazy birds swooped around making patterns for a long time.
Another cool picture, the contrasting colors and such.
Looking up at the open roof of the Pantheon.
Pantheon marble floors.
The tomb of Rapheal.
The Pantheon.
St. Peter's Basilica from afar.
Entombed bread and seeds from 1300 B.C.
A written upon and then kiln-fired clay tablet from 2550 B.C. marking an Egyptian real estate transaction. Dad, are you happy that you just have to use paper and computers?

The hall of maps.
Ceiling shot of a fresco-ed pope apartment at the Vatican.
The corkscrew steps leading out of the museum.

It would appear that I was having a bad hairday.
But so was Em!!!
Interesting self portrait in reflecting window with cityscape in background.
This shows what we were walking through up to the top of St. Peter's Basilica. The floor in this picture is parallel to the bottom of the picture, the door sides are slanted to match the cupola inside and outside surfaces.
This shop was closed so we couldn't get Emily what could have been the best shirt ever.
Inside the Colosseum.
A model of how the passages underneath the now non-existent floor worked. There were trapped doors in the plank floor and human-powered elevators to move animals and "scenery" for the gladiator fights around.
The Roman Forum.
Pallatine hill where all the people are standing.
The stadium built inside one of the emperors' homes.
I liked this one, so I'm sharing.
Moses, by Michelangelo.
The chains that held St. Peter before he left them behind.
Fountain Trevi.
Smart Cars. If you haven't seen these, you should. They have taken Europe by storm, and are awesome, efficient, safe, and can park in the same spot as a Vespa scooter (well, almost).
Some fast car (Lambo, I believe) that I just barely got a blurry picture of. Basically just for you, Roache.
Shopping district in Rome.
Public drinking.
Cobblestone Appian Road.
I look small in comparison to this brick and mortar ruin.
Sunset over St. Peter's Basilica.
