Liz almost bridged to the breakaway in her W4 race, but Ms. Orbea was just too strong. But her hard work resulted in yet another podium. Please don't upgrade any time soon, Liz!
What is this?! Janna, Katie, Suzanne, Carly & Liz = quite the women's squad developing here at Team TATI.
The W4 race played out almost exactly as scripted. A break went off, and Liz was in position to jump with it. Veronique, in her very first race, rode to the front of the pack and blocked like I pro. I almost fainted, I was so giddy. Meanwhile, Katie was trading elbows with the XXX bruiser (before winning the pack sprint) and Suzanne was cruising solo (and fast!) in her Gucci scarf and stylish riding skirt. Did I mention that this was the very first race for Suzanne, Katie, and Veronique?
Suzanne demonstrates her yogi stuff while Carly & Veronique introduce her to the pinning ritual.
Our new team flag is made of carbon and inspires jealousy! Next year, everyone gets 950g custom painted carbon frames.
Lest anyone forget this team is from Hyde Park, our cheerleaders come prepared with reading materials.
Even our injured reserves showed up to cheer. Stellar.
One benefit of showing up early: monopolizing the one and only shade-providing tree along the finishing stretch. Dan's parents showed up and produced ice cream cakes and piles of delicious pasta. Jesse brought a cooler full of beer and Red Bull. Liz's entire 3 pound bag of Gummy Bears lasted about an hour.
Matt: Only an F430? We should have a Bentley pacecar.
The boys felt a little better after the BMW joined the Ferrari before the race.
Adieu, Claus, sweet adieu.
Jesse ponders going off the front. On lap one.
Every time Bernard brings the Pin, he does well. Meanwhile, the Specialize disappears into the forest.
