Louie Super Big Boy Cat Needs a Home!

Louie was rescued in Brooklyn Heights in February on a cold night after a tough time on the streets. He is truly the perfect cat: litterbox trained, doesn't scratch the furniture, and a sweetheart. He loves to play or cuddle. At 15 pounds, he is a big ball of love, and a very handsome cat. We haven't seen him with children, but think he would likely do very well with them. The vet thinks he is around 3 years old. After neutering, dental work, and some relaxation, he is glossy and happy, and ready to find the perfect forever home. Louie is FIV-positive, which does not affect him on a day-to-day basis and can't be passed to people, but he would do best in a home without other cats or with FIV-positive cats. Frank, Fred and Ed

Frank Fred and Ed are three super affectionate pure white asian-shorthair mixes. Their human parents have separated & can't keep them. All are neutered and comfortable with dogs, other cats, and small children. Frank is the handsomest, with blue eyes (named for Sinatra) and an incredibly soft coat! When he wants attention, he'll climb into your lap and just sit there, purring. Fred is the most affectionate; he"ll approach a complete stranger for attention! He has beautiful, light green eyes and very soft fur. Ed is the most relaxed, and has striking yellow eyes. He most displays their asian lineage, with a leaner body and a distinctive triangular head. He's the most inquisitive and reserved; he won't demand attention, just quietly snuggle. A home that can take all three is preferred, but not required. Collette

Collette is a gentle, friendly, eight-month old Bombay Black kitten. She was rescued in late April from a Bronx street, extremely thin and pregnant. She loves to eat, especially treats, and is rapidly becoming the gorgeous happy cat she was meant to be. Collette enjoys snuggling with her foster mother, and gets along well with other cats. Furley

Rescued from Crown Heights, Furley was pretty surly and untrusting when we brought him inside. However, it was clear that he wanted to be loved and cuddled but was just afraid to show his softer side (just like his namesake Mr. Furley on 3's Company). Now that he's learned we can be trusted (aside from the occasional medicinal dose) he is relaxed and comfortable and loves to cuddle and snuggle while being pet. He is living with other kittens who are teaching him how to play (his life on the street was too hard so he never learned outside). He's ready for a nice home of his own. Furley is FeLV/FIV negative, vaccinated against distemper and microchipped.

These siblings are 12 weeks old and were brought into the ACC as orphaned kittens when they were 5 days old. Raised in a loving foster home, these guys are finally ready to find their own homes. Ira

Formerly Iris (until we discovered he was a neutered male) this sweet boy was renamed Ira. He is sweet and friendly and looking for his forever home. He loves to play with other cats and people. He is very friendly and loves scratches but being so big is a bit uncomfortable being held. Ira has tested negative for FeLV/FIV and had his distemper and rabies vaccines. Penelope

This beautiful young tuxedo was a teenage mother living on the streets, but unfortunately none of her kittens survived. Penelope was rescued and spayed to prevent any more kittens. Now we are trying to find her a home. She is young and loves to play but doesn't really like other kitties. She can play a little rough so she needs someone who can help her learn not to play so excitedly. However, she is very smart and can learn quickly. Penelope has tested negative for FeLV/FIV and been vaccinated for distemper and rabies.

Nina, Eight-month old Calico

This sweet little girl was on the ACC euthanasia list because she was brought in with a huge burn on her side from suspected abuse. Despite this horrible wound, Nina is the sweetest most affectionate kitty. While her burn in being treated she just purrs & tries to get you to cuddle her. She puts her arms around your neck & purrs & purrs. Right now she is fostering with our vet. They are treating her wound every day & it has already healed alot. We hope within about 4-6 weeks Nina will be healed enough to go to her forever home. Whoever takes this little girl will have a wonderful loving kitty companion. Nina has tested negative for FeLV/FIV, been vaccinated for distemper and rabies, spayed and microchipped. Please help this deserving brave girl find her own special forever home.

Julius and Jacob - two brothers

These four month old boys are fun and affectionate and seeking their own home. They need to go together because they love each and have such a great time playing together. Brought into the ACC as 4 week old babies they are grown up with other kittens and love to play and get cuddles. Because of a food allergy Jacob does need to get grain free food, but so long as he doesn't eat any wheat gluten he is perfectly healthy and happy. Otherwise both boys have tested negative for FeLV/FIV, been vaccinated for distemper and microchipped. Now they just need their own home.

Spring 2012 Kittens

We have rescued so many orphan litters from the ACC that we have tons of kittens that will be ready for adoption soon! These guys aren't quite ready to go (not twelve weeks) but stay tuned! Slate, Gorgeous Young Grey Female

Slate was trapped in a March Trap/Neuter/Release project and spayed and received a slight ear notch before we realized what a gentle, sweet, adoptable kitty she is. She is approximately eight months old, has been vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV,. She has thick soft fur and will be a real stunner when she grows up. She is playful, flirtatious and purrs at a touch but is still a bit shy with strangers. Slate would do best in a home with other cats, or possibly a dog. Sweet Patrick's Dad Died (Tuxedo male cat)

Patrick, a healthy young adult male Tuxedo cat lost his Person, who died after a long illness. Patrick loves to snuggle and cuddle and does 'Circle 8s' around people's legs. He is soooo sweet . He's a gentle soul, affectionate and mellow. A little Torbie female cat has made friends with Patrick and he's getting along well with her, so we believe he can be placed with other animals or he can be the only cat in the home. Patrick's Dad was giving him Science Diet Bladder Health So far, Patrick has exhibited no bladder or urinary problems. He has been using his litter box and all looks normal. We will have him tested for any problems before he goes to his new home, but all seems fine. He is neutered, up to date on shots, negative for FIV and FeLV. miso&sami

Miso and Sami are two kittens found abandoned together on a door step in a cardboard box. They are from different litters, but are bonded brothers and must stay together. Sami is a siamese--6 months and Miso is black--4 months. Both kittens are comfortable with people and are not shy at all. Miso is a little adventurer--exploring and leading his older brother. Sami is mellow and steady but gets very excited with cat toys. Both kitties are vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for FIV/FEL. Thelma & Louise kittens

Thelma and Louise were rescued from a Brooklyn garage at around five weeks of age. They are beautiful three-month old brown tabby kittens who love to play, cuddle and spend time together. They are shy at first, but sweet once they get to know you. Since they are very close we would like them to be adopted as a pair. They have been vaccinated and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Sheva: too sweet for the streets!

Sheva had spent her young life living on the street and having babies, until some kind souls got her spayed and vaccinated. However they had nowhere to take her so she is still outdoors. She is too gentle and mellow to face the perils of outdoor living and she craves the warmth and companionship of her very own person. Jimbo (Rocketman)

Jimbo is an eleven-month old Tiger Tabby rescued with his siblings as young kittens in Brooklyn. All four were terribly fearful (they were discovered with plastic twist ties around their necks so may have been mistreated) but have gradually learned to trust people. Jimbo is long-legged and handsome, with glossy fur and beautiful markings. This joyful kitty loves to play with other cats more than anything else; he is very agile and fast, full of energy, curious and intelligent. He is sweet-natured and loves attention, belly rubs and brushing. He's a bit shy with strangers but warms up quickly. Jimbo is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested negative for FeLV/FIV. Smokey handsome Russian blue mix male

Smokey is a grey Russian blue mix. From Smokey’s foster mom: "Smokey started coming around my back porch about a month ago. Last week I noticed something had happened to his tail, it was completely raw to the flesh, he must have gotten it caught or it was bitten and later got infected. I lured him into a carrier and off to the vet we went. His tail needed to be amputated, and he was neutered. The vet estimates his age to be 2 as he has clean healthy teeth. He tested negative for leukemia, and had his rabie's shot, but tested positive for feline aids (which is not a death sentence at all!!). Elizabeth

Elizabeth is a beautiful, spotted calico female who was rescued along with her five kittens from a Brooklyn garage. Being an attentive mother, she diligently nursed them all and is now enjoying some much earned rest and relaxation as they have since been adopted. She is sweet and gentle but shy with strangers at first, and she loves being around other cats with whom she snuggles and gives adoring head-butts. Siri a sweetheart of a kitty for adoption

Siri, a 3 year old, lovely gray, brown and white striped tabby lady cat with a soft silky coat, was rescued from a construction site. Siri is the Greta Garbo among our kitties. Sweet & cooperative in most situations, she stubbornly resists having her picture taken. She was unsocialized when rescued from the construction site. Siri's foster mom has worked with her to develop a trusting relationship. And all the work has paid off!! Siri has evolved into the most precious and affectionate cat. She loves tummy rubs & attention from her foster mom. Although she is always going to be a quiet kitty, she enjoys playing quietly with the laser and other toys. Siri enjoys the company of other cats but would likely be more affectionate if she was a single kitty. Occasionally Siri gets a mild case of ‘dry eye’ but she’s a good girl about allowing her foster mom to put a couple of special drops in each eye. Siri is spayed, up to date on all of her vaccines, tested negative for FELIV and FIV.

Mick and Mack: Siamese mix young adult cats bonded siblings

Originally our little Teacup Kittens,two awesome and bonded siblings were born on February 27, 2010. They are affectionate, playful and great companions for you and each other. Spayed/neutered, they are negative for FIV and FeLV and up to date on their shots Look at their gorgeous classic tabby coats. They are stunning beauties and we believe they have a bit of Siamese in their background. Siamese are bright, affectionate cats, so a touch of that background makes for a perfect combo with Mick and Mack.

Roxy Sweet Mackeral Tabby Lady

She had her first (and last) litter of kittens w;hen she was less than a year old, on February 27, 2010 (Mick and Mack are also available for adoption). She is very sweet, was a great mother and loves pets although she has not yet developed a great love of laps, She gets along well with other cats and would make a great second cat. According to her foster mom: "I think she has great potential. When she gets to know someone, she sticks close. she follows me from room to room. she lays in bed with me. she talks to me, all the time. She's very playful. She'll turn any and everything into a game/toy. I love that she listens, she'll come when you tell her, she is very engaging. when outsiders come in the house she is standoffish, but allows ppl to pet her once she senses calm. I think she would benefit from a single person or a person without children. Loud noise or quick movements startle her."

Cyd

Cyd, a soft and silky White Locket female Bombay mix, was trapped with her brothers and mom at a feral colony in Brooklyn. Her brothers have all been adopted but Cyd is still looking for her forever home. She is a bit shy sometimes but once she is comfortable she loves pets and cuddles. Cyd is intelligent and sensitive (typical of the Bombay). She has lovely green/yellow speckled eyes. She goes absolutely limp with pleasure when her ears are scratched and purrs and purrs. We think she would flourish in a home by herself because she would interact with people more if there are no other cats around. BUT she can get along with other cats. Born in early April 2010, she is spayed, has tested negative for FIV/Felv and is fully vaccinated. Adoption Fee.

Roddy perfect gentleman so affectionate. FIV+ but can live long life!!

Handsome Roddy is our perfect gentlemen. He is so sweet and affectionate and an absolutely lovely boy seeking a forever home. Roddy was dumped in the Bronx near the botanical gardens. Before he was rescued he was thin and getting beaten up by the other kitties in the neighborhood. Since his rescue, he has gotten back to his perfect weight. Roddy is 5 years old but young at heart. Very affectionate he is a homeboy who just wants to cuddle with someone who loves him. He has been neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for feline leukemia. Roddy has tested positive for FIV. Lark, Covey and Jay

These three kittens were found in a colony in Brooklyn. So scared when they first arrived, they huddled together missing their mom. More comfortable now, they purr when picked up and love to eat baby food and play with their siblings and other cats and kittens in their foster home. About ten months old as of February 2012, Lark is a female and Covey and Jay are boys. All kittens have tested negative for Felv/FIV, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Jim has become very bonded to our Siamese mix kitten, Jules (please see his album) and we would like the two to be adopted together. They cuddle, nap, eat and get into mischief together. Bowie - Intersex Cat seeks welcoming home

My name is Bowie & I was rescued from the streets of Brooklyn in April. When I saw the the vet they discovered I am a happy & healthy intersex kitty. My anatomy includes a uterus, penis, undescended testicles, vagina, cute pink nose, loving eyes, adorable whiskers, a gorgeous set of chops, big lovable paws, & luxurious black & white fur that's nonstop! I am large & in charge at 14 beautiful pounds, & I'm one of the most sweet-natured, easygoing tuxedo kitties you will ever meet! I would love to live in a home with at least 1 other cat & I do not demand a lot of attention, but gladly accept it when offered. I won't be a lot of extra work, I promise. In fact I'm still a little reserved with people, after spending the whole winter outside as a stray. Kyle

This big orange boy was rescued from the streets of Boro Park. He is very sweet and affectionate but is a little wary until he gets to know you. He likes a quiet environment - so he hates the noise and excitement that occurs at our adoption events - where he grumbles and complains. Before he was rescued - Kyle had started a family (his kittens will be available soon). He tolerates the shenanigans of his kittens very well so we think he could be a single kitty or have kitty roommates. Kyle is FeLV/FIV negative, vaccinated, nuetered and microchipped.

Panache, Large Tiger Tabby

Panache is a handsome, healthy one- to two-year old brown Tiger Tabby. He was rescued from a Bronx street recently. He appeared to be newly abandoned as he was frightened and approached people for help. He's settled in at his foster home very well, likes other cats but would probably do best w/just one other cat or as a single cat. Panache is affectionate and enjoys attention. Trevor --The Super Hero!

Trevor would love to be your own Super Hero--see the stripe down his nose. He is a supper mellow youngster (he is about a year old). He is not shy at all and will chirp at you like a bird in a high voice rather than meow. He gets along fine with my grumpy old lady cats--they don't even bother to hiss at him. Tina

Mongo the Awesome Cow Cat

Mongo, approximately 7 years 'young' was on the euthanasia list at a local NYC shelter and we have taken custody of him. He is such a sweet lump of love, loves belly rubs and a great cuddler at night, he is also getting along well with feline companions in his current foster home but isn't crazy about dogs. He is negative for FIV and FeLV, neutered, up to date on his shots. He does need to have a special diet which is easy to manage and doesn't do well if left alone. valentino

Valentino is a handsome fellow, and like his namesake is a lover. In his tuxedo he will greet you and your family/friends with a hearty meow. While he may appear to be the formal dress up type, he is a little shy at first, but not at all a snob. He is friendly to all humans--especially kind people who scratch his chin. Valentino appeared in the back yard of my art studio in Dumbo, he has been a wonderful guest, but we would love to find him a real home. Our buddy very much likes the company of other cats. He loves to play and would like to share a home with another young kitty. Valentino is a gentleman and has impeccable litter box manners and prefers his carpeted starching post to the furniture.
