I headed out to Golde Gate park early in the morning, taking a cab from the hotel. I was the cabbie's first fare of the day. yay. It was quite a misty day, but the mist came in and went out.
One of the buildings at the park had this cool space "laser" defense platform.
The mungus crane was in operation that day.
Some cool tower lurking in the distance.
The mist gave a nice surreal effect to everything . This is actually how it looked, not a B&W conversion in Photochop.
Same here. You can see the sign in the corner that there was actually color here! really!
In the area in front of the band shell, some folks were exercising to oriental music.
I wasn't the only one photographing the folks doing Tai Ch'i
This is my favorite of the mist shots.
But this one is a close second.
Cute little flowers.
"Shhh, go away. I'm hiding"
One minute the sky was clear, the next it was overcast.
There's this strage building here. I didn't take the time to see what it was.
Pretty blue flowers along a path.
Along with these pretty white flowers.
I wasn't the only photographer out that morning. He has the same camera I have, but I didn't bring my flash. You can get much more effective macro shots with a flash.
Stairway to nowhere.
The roads through the park are closed on weekends, letting me play in the road like I used to as a child.
Walking along the closed road, I head a familiar shriek over my head. It sounded just like the Red-Tailed hawk we occasionally have in our back yard. Why she decided to fly out west, I don't know.
"I want to eat your face"
Blue Jay. I'm still amazed that they don't actually have pigment in their feathers.
This young lady checks out her bird pictures.
Someone lost a foot.
I am Sait Pancreas, here to bless your feet.
I think this couple was visiting from Mexico. Since I don't speak Mexican, I didn't bother them.
Weird building and palm tree.
You can't seem to get away from the long haird guys with guitars, no matter where you go.
Nor can you get away from the communist revolutionaries. These freaks are *all* over the place in San Francisco. Power to the people this, Che Guevera that.
On the walk home, I spotted this interior car treatment. Quite creepy.
FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER! WOO!
Walking back to the hotel along fulton, there was a stretch of sidewalk with several piles of broken window glass.
As well as this festive truck.
One house had cool plants.
This condominium complex is a big gaudy. I bet it costs a fortune to get in.
This one's for Alcor.
I went to Moscone west to pick up my badge and obligatory WWDC carry bag. I was amused with these folks photographing the people registering.
Friends from Poland.
Pawel from Poland. We hung out when he was in Freeport, and we saw lots of weird frogs in Erie.
