In May of 2007, I got up at the crack of dawn to catch sunrise over Freeport. I don't really know anybody in Freeport, but there's a bridge across the river that gives a good vantage point.
Which is a good place to learn about lens flare. Repeat after me boys and girls, "shooting into the sun with remaining eye will cause lens flare."
But it can still make for a cool effect.
Danger. Bored photographer waiting for the sun to move. And having a point and shoot camera. Now I need a third camera to photograph the LCD on the P&S as it's looking through the DSLR...
Elvis needs boats, Elvis needs boats.
Seen on the sidewalk returning from the middle of the Freeport Bridge. The Tin Man has been charged several times with exposing himself in public prior to this incident.
A shot of the place where the earlier shots were taken. I was around the left side on the bridge.
After finishing up on the bridge, I drove around the area and found a very pretty little cemetary. Hail Mary, full of grace, how does your garden grow?
I like the detail on the sides of the rough-hewn headstones.
The morning sunlight really brings out the colors of the flowers.
The photo in the headstone is really neat.
In Freeport, it's always Christmas!
I like the arrangement of these.
Apparently the tree is covered in poison Ivy, which I've been told CAN SHOOT HOT DEATH AND KILL YOU AT THIRTY PACES SO WATCH OUT!!!!!!
I like reflections.
And birds, too.
Whatchoo lookin' at willis.
I don't remember Angels being sent from Above with solar cells in their head.
At the top of the main hill in the area is a strange looking building (at least from a distance). Turns out to be "Laube Hall", where the local high school(s) hold proms and animal sacrifices.
Laube Hall at the top of the hill, unspeakably looming over the area in an indescribably horrible fashion. (Captions (C) H.P. Lovecraft)
View of the freeport bridge from above. I was about the left pylon when I took the earlier shots in this ablum.
This is/was Steel country. The awnings of Laube hall are stainless steel.
Giant flying beetles lay their eggs in brickwork.
Freeport Bridge hiding behind a tree.
I like the juxtaposition of a pretty flowering tree with a portion of one of the most insane traffic configurations I've witnessed.
Luckily the mind control "lasers" around Laube hall had been disabled during a prior riot.
This monastery-style setup is underneath the main floor.
Outside is some strange, tall tower. I could not feel any psychic vibrations coming from it.
Includes a handy place to tie me kangaroo down, sport.
It's very tall.
Take off every "ZIG" for great justice!
