The day started out very overcast. Small patches of blue sky were beginning to peek out by the time we reached Wild Basin.
Wild Basin is located just off highway 360. You can see the highway from various locations in the park.
All of us were constantly stopping to take photographs of the scenery.
There was a nice view upon reaching the summet. I am sure those houses across the street are rather expensive.
An overhang which provides a nice view of a waterfall. I may have gotten a bit overzealous with the HDR settings.
I spotted some red berries growing above the path. I enjoyed the contrast against the clearing sky.
Everyone expected to find some hobbits hiding from ring wraiths along this path section, which I also HDR'd.
More HDR! I might be getting better with the settings as this result appears more natural than psychedelic to me.
A number of trees in this area were forced to grow at an extreme angle by something.
Cowboy Bic on one of the creek crossings.
Dualing cameras against Bic.
The lines in this old stump were interesting.
Ben beat Pete, Bic, and I to this hill top. You can see the path was still muddy from last week's rain.
An HDR shot of the valley which feeds into Bee Creek.
Bic, Pete, and Ben ahead of me on the path. We were heading back uphill toward the park enterance by this point.
Some redish leaves I liked.
A bridge appeared shortly before the trail's end. I believe this may have been part of a Boy Scout project providing wheelchair access to one of the scenic overlooks.
A bike rack modeled after a rattlesnake. It is eating a gecko, but I underexposed the mouth.
