Tor-Ivar to the left, Jonar in the middle, Tor on the right, keeping the bank in the corner behind him.
Jonar not too happy after I block GMO with some evil tokenising.
It was when Jonar took off his beanie things started to go badly for him, he said much later that day, over the beer.
Tor-Ivar punching stock values as we sum up.
At the end of OR1. Look at the beautifully destructive Frisco tile lays :-D
Stock market during SR2, I think. But why are not all stocks started during SR1 on the same vertical line? Probably a mistake that was corrected.
As we enter the third stock round. Frisco still messed up, and why didn't GMO go to New Orleans first? Illinois becomes a good startup candidate.
Stock market at the end of the third stock round. Should be an Illinois token there on the 82 market spot not a texas one.
As we enter stock round 4. Mississippi still uncrossable (!) as I continue to hug the bridge private.
Jonar as he starts Burlington, his third company, with the cash he got from the GMO money machine.
Jonar counting his money.
At the end of the fourth stock round.
As we enter the fifth stock round. Mississippi *still* closed! But five trains are close to the horizon.
The stock market at the end of the fifth stock round. Cotton under Mopac, dumped down from 100 by - yours truly :-P Santa Fe under GMO.
Stock market at the end of stock round 5.
Santa Fe buys the bridge company and BOOM! Suddenly Frisco and GMO got some extra tile laying to do to reach their destinations :-D Not the best place for Santa Fe token perhaps, but still pretty ok route-wise - especially if I could have gotten two trains for it. One to run from destination to the north, and one from destination to the east. Dreams, dreams, dreams.
Closeup of the destructive Santa Fe token lay.
Southern Pacific as they start up. New Orleans seems so far away! A slow earner, at start.
Stock market at the end of stock round 6. The president of Burlington owns 20%, and noone takes it over since it has crap trains.
Me taking notes for the game report. It makes it harder to keep focus on my own strategic choices, and makes it a small handicap, one I can live with.
As we enter stock round 7.
As we enter stock round 7, without flash reflects :-P
This is at the end of stock round 7. GMO is down since its owner dumped it on me.
A snapsot of the EPS track near endgame. The winner's to companies, Mopac and Katy, are high up.
The western team - bad guy in the front, the conservative in the back.
Tor hammers down his remaining tokens from katy and mopac to (temporarily) block the southern east-west link. Keeping your tokens can give you nice strategic options in the endgame.
Teh Winnah!
End-game calculations in my notepad (not quite complete). Tor won convincingly. Jonar had crappy stock value and lost.
Map at game finish. We stopped laying tiles before the last stock round. There was very few track building opportunities left, and final score margins were too high to have been affected.
Stock market as the game is over.
Board at finish - with flash!
Tor-Ivar came second. Here is a picture of his body and right hand taken from the side. Chairs are on the tables, the place has closed, Jonar works there so we could stay behind and finish the game regardless.
